The Opportunity

You will be part of a high performing and highly regarded family law team working towards collective success.  Your responsibilities will include:

    • Confidently and efficiently managing a varied workload of interesting and complex family law matters with little or no supervision;
    • Assisting senior family lawyers in larger and more complex matters;
    • Drafting court documents, agreements, advices and correspondence;
    • Appearing at court, mediations and settlement conferences; and
    • Maintaining a professional presentation at all times.
About You

To be successful in this position we are looking for an enthusiastic, driven lawyer with:

    • A minimum of 3+ years post-admission experience in all aspects of family law matters including complex property, children and parenting matters and divorce;
    • The ability to work autonomously (with supervision where necessary) to a high level and manage client requirements and expectations;
    • Exceptional communication and writing skills, advocacy and attention to detail;
    • Commercial acumen with an understanding of business;
    • The ability to liaise and communicate competently with clients and all parties;
    • A positive attitude, be a team player and a genuine interest in professional development; and
    • The ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent family law paralegal with exceptional skills to assist our high performing and highly regarded family law team. 

Your responsibilities will include:

    • Preparation of disclosure and briefs to counsel;
    • Opening and closing files and file management;
    • Drafting and amending preliminary court documents, agreements, advices and correspondence;
    • Daily organisation of diary, critical data and meetings;
    • Liaising with clients, solicitors, barristers and mediators;
    • Updating court portal and lodgements;
    • Preparing and completion of billing;
    • Other general administrative duties.
About You

To be successful in this role you will possess the following attributes:

    • Experienced family law paralegal 4+ years in a law firm;
    • Experience with Leap Practice Management Software (desirable);
    • Strong drafting skills (preliminary court documents and correspondence);
    • Excellent organisational and time management skills;
    • Ability to multi-task and manage competing demands;
    • Meticulous attention to detail and takes accountability;
    • A competent communicator with strong interpersonal skills;
    • Typing skills of 70+ wpm with 98 percent accuracy;
    • A genuine team player with a positive attitude.
